Checking Accounts

We have a whole bunch of checking account types. There's surely one here for you.

While we have an account with no service charges and no minimum balance, if you keep enough money in your account, you can avoid any monthly service charge on most of them. Senior citizens have no minimum balance requirement to avoid the monthly service charge for Gold Star Checking and receive a 50% discount on monthly fee for Platinum Star Checking.

We offer the VISA Check card (at no cost) for easy access to cash, and to make purchases worldwide, wherever VISA is accepted. There are some extra services listed at the bottom that apply to all of the accounts, except some of those are included free in the Platinum Account.

Platinum Star Checking:

• Includes free checks, unlimited check writing, several identity theft products, lots of shopping, travel and entertainment discounts, prescription drug and eyewear discounts, and accidental death and dismemberment insurance, to name a few goodies
• Minimum deposit to open: $100
• May be interest bearing; see Interest Option below
• Monthly service charge is $12.00 for $10,000 level of AD&D Insurance
• There is no monthly service charge if your minimum balance is at least $10,000 during that statement cycle

Silver Star Checking:

• Minimum deposit to open: $100
• No minimum balance required
• No monthly fees
• No interest bearing
• Unlimited check writing
• No Images of checks or deposits sent with monthly statements

Gold Star Checking:

• Minimum deposit to open: $100
• Fees: $8.00 per month if balance falls below $800
• May be interest bearing; see Interest Option below
• Unlimited check writing
• Images of checks and deposit slips sent with monthly statements

Interest Option:

• Applies to Platinum Star and Gold Star accounts
• Minimum deposit to open: $1,500
• Interest rate is variable, paid monthly. E-mail us for current rates.
• Fees: $10.00 per month if balance falls below $1,500
• Unlimited check writing

Extra Services:

Security Blanket Option:

• For occasional overdraft protection
• Subject to approval
• A $25.00 fee is assessed for each overdraft item paid

Money Market Checking:

• Minimum deposit to open: $2,500
• Interest rate is variable, paid monthly. E-mail us for current rates. Rates are tiered, so the more money in your account the higher rate you earn.
• Minimum balance to avoid fees: $2,500
• Limited to 6 debit transactions per month with no more than 3 by check
• Fees: $10 per month if balance falls below $2,500
